Woe is me. Like seriously.
The moment the book started I was literally latched on from page to page and didn't even realize the page numbers like I usually do. It was such an engrossing read. You have no idea. The is dark, tormented and somewhat like Alice in Wonderland. The book is creepy and very haunting. Creagh managed to use her knowledge of Poe and wrote something so amazing it simply blew me away.
The story began slow and picked up after 30 pages. The way Isobel felt towards Varen literally grew and wasn't instantaneous like most love in YA Paranormal Romances. The book was realistic in terms of everyday life for both Varen and Isobel but Varen was the unusual type with dark secrets. He's mister mysterious and hes so hot for it that you can't keep yourself from wanting to read more about him.
In the end, Creagh created such a beautiful masterpiece. It is beyond amazing. Her writing was poetic and haunting and literally wraps a whole new story around you while you read. I've learned a lot about Poe just by reading this book and most of all, I gained a favorite. The next book is bound to be as unputdownable as the first.
Furthermore, I definitely got what I expected from this book. Complete AWESOMENESS.
